architect - engineer

corrado greco,  born in Noto (Siracusa) in 1980, he graduated with top grade in Architecture and Building Engineering at the University of Catania and after achieving the professional qualifications

he has been admitted to practice as an Architect and Engineer and is registered at the professional register of Architects and Engineers in the province of Siracusa. During the studies he was tutor for the university course for Architectural restoration and the Architecture Studio Design course and collected his first working experiences by collaborating with prof. arch. riccardo dell'osso and designed public works as squares, museums, auditoria, cultural centres, residential complexes, tramway and bus stations and the respective junctions etc. He is passionate about digital graphic in 2d and 3d, as a student he works as assistant in many architecture firms and design studios developing significant threee-dimensional projects. After graduation and several professional collaborations with design studios and architectural firms, in 2010 he decides to settle in his hometown and founds, together with his wife and colleague, engineer giusi bernò, an own Architectural and Engineering studio. Showing particular insight for design he always realizes unique and balanced projects, in synch with the surroundings and respecting the client's needs. All his projects, designed and carried out by trusted local artisans, become precious because of his interest for arts and design.

giusi bernò, born in Noto (Siracusa) in 1982, she graduated with top grade cum laude in Civil Engineering with specialisation in structural engineering at  the University of Catania and after achieving the professional qualifications she has been admitted to practice as an Engineer and is registered at the professional register of Engineers in the province of Siracusa. During the studies she does an internship at the laboratory "prove materiali e strutture" of the University of Catania and contemporarily she specializes in using sophisticated design and structural analysis software. After three years she concluded the civil engineering course and elaborates a thesis about the analysis of the finite elements of laminated wood beams reinforced with cfrp; afterwards, at the end of the two-year-specialisation, she successfully develops a thesis for her master's degree about seismic vulnerability of monumental structures and possible innovative improvement techniques using carbon fiber and aramid synthetic fiber, employing these techniques to the practical case of the san domenico church in Ortigia (Siracusa). In 2010 she founds, together with her husband and colleague, the architect and engineer corrado greco, an own Architectural and Engineering studio in Noto (Siracusa), and specializes in design and structural analysis of any typology. Currently she collaborates also with the engineering firm Tecnass in Siracusa, where she attends to the structural design of manufactured pieces for infrastructural "major projects" as motorways and ports. As a thorough expert of structural mechanics applied in civil engineering and the respective standards she demonstrates to be a pro even for complicated projects.
